Eliza is the king's niece, but she is not at all keen on formal receptions and lofty speeches. She befriends the servants and trains in fencing, sneaking out of the castle at night.
Eliza's life ceases to be so serene when her uncle forces her into negotiations about marriage. Unable to refuse the king, Eliza agrees to the care of Legion Grey, an attractive and mysterious young man tasked with finding the princess a good husband. But in his hands lies not only Eliza's future but also her heart.
As the heroes grow closer, their path becomes increasingly dangerous. Enchanted people with black eyes attack the princess. An assassin, more beast than man, thirsts for blood. And the kingdom holds its breath, waiting for the fairy prince who seeks to reclaim the stolen crown.
War between the mages and mortals is approaching, and Eliza must choose a side to protect the country…
