Clapping Games. Ill. Yu. Vasnetsov

Folk tales, songs, and rhymes — that very childhood classic, with which a child begins to enter the world of words and images. Generation after generation listens to the story of the magpie, the little goats, and the burning cat's house, and it seems that nothing more understandable and wise has been written for toddlers. Yuri Vasnetsov's illustrations are also memorable — simple, reminiscent of children's drawings, and thus very touching. Children are very interested in examining Vasnetsov's animals and discussing them. Just like the folk lines themselves, the artist's drawings are remembered "from zero and for a lifetime".

 

In 1971, Yu. A. Vasnetsov was awarded the State Prize of the USSR for the books "Clapping Games" and "Rainbow-Rainbow".
