Slovak Language. Basic Course

The proposed textbook is designed for students of Slavic languages, as well as for anyone wishing to learn Slovak. Mastering the material of the textbook achieves a level of knowledge corresponding to level B1 (self-sufficient proficiency) in the Common European... Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The textbook consists of 20 lessons, each containing two parts: grammatical and conversational. Grammar is presented in the form of visual tables and explanations. The rules are stated in accordance with the modern state of the language. Many rules include comparisons with the grammatical structure of the Russian language. Exercises accompany all grammatical topics. The second edition of the textbook has updated exercise texts and added grammatical material.
The range of conversational topics presented in the textbook is quite broad - introductions, orientation in the city, travel, weather, food, holidays, education, profession, appearance and character, health and illnesses, interests, and hobbies. Additionally, there is cultural material about Slovakia.
The audio supplement contains texts, dialogues, and tasks for developing speech and listening comprehension. All recordings are made by native speakers.
