Under the Sign of Amur. The Clash for Amur

Wolves are lurking for Muravyov and his like-minded companions at every turn. Wolves in the guise of the French emperor and the head of his intelligence, the Prime Minister of Great Britain and English agents, the Russian chancellor and minister... of war, wolves in masks of schemers and informers, haters and rascals. Nevelskoy and his companions, despite their half-starved existence, are conducting research in the lower Amur lands; their wives are helping to establish contacts with the local population. Muravyov is concerned about the defense of Kamchatka, as he is convinced that England is preparing a war against Russia to seize Amur; he strives for a decree to transfer peasants assigned to the mountain factories to the free Cossack estate, creating the Transbaikal Cossack army.
