This edition is a translation of the book «Prem Sagar» («Ocean of Love») by Indian writer Lallu ji Lala (1763-1835), performed by the outstanding Soviet Indologist Alexey Petrovich Barannikov (1890-1952). «Prem Sagar» — is the legends of Krishna, the first major prose work in Hindi, which played a huge role in the formation of this language. It was published in 1810 and is, in turn, a translation into Hindi of the stories presented in the tenth book of the Bhagavata Purana — a collection of legends and tales about the childhood and youth of Krishna the shepherd.
