Shrimad Bhagavatam. Books 1,2

The Vedas define four goals of human life - health, material prosperity, a good name, and freedom - and describe the means to achieve them. However, after recording the Vedas, the ancient sage Vyasa concluded that none of the above makes a person happy. And then, following the instructions of his teacher Narada, he wrote Shrimad Bhagavatam, where he urged people to renounce everything that the Vedas advocate.
