Inner Journey to Vrindavan

Since time immemorial, Sacred places have always attracted the attention of pilgrims. Often, they undertook long and extremely difficult journeys to such places in order to revive and strengthen their faith. In ancient times, when the roads were not as well-maintained as they are now, believers of various denominations embarked on their journey, leaving their usual life in the village. They walked dangerous paths towards the Sacred place. Along the way, they encountered wild animals, raging rivers, and robbers who took their humble possessions. But, no matter how great the obstacles on their path were, pilgrims always considered their journey fateful. Why?

To answer this question, we must understand what distinguishes pilgrimage from an ordinary journey. The answer is that pilgrimage is not just a physical journey to some special place; it is also an inner spiritual journey to God.

For Christians and Jews, such a special Sacred place that they must visit at least once in their lives is Bethlehem or Jerusalem. For Muslims, it is Mecca and Medina, and for Buddhists, it is Bodh Gaya.

For Krishna devotees, Vrindavan is the most cherished place. There, on the Holy land where Krishna's pastimes took place, everything helps them immerse their minds in Krishna.
