The Technique of Artistic Prose.

Evgeny Zamyatin is undoubtedly one of the main Russian writers and thinkers of the first half of the 20th century. He was part of the intelligentsia that often opposed the Bolshevik regime and defended the true values of national art.
Besides... his writing career, Zamyatin was also an educator and enlightener, enjoying particular popularity among the creative youth of that time. In 1919, he gave a lecture series titled "The Technique of Artistic Prose" at the literary studio at the House of Arts in what was then Petrograd.
Ten lectures, from the technical nuances of prose to the role of the artist in society, provide a comprehensive characterization of Russian literature in all its directions that managed to flourish at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, through the lens of world art.
