Alexander the Great. The romantic figure of Alexander the Great represents perhaps the highest type of conqueror that history has ever seen. In contrast to Hannibal, Caesar, Frederick the Great, and even Napoleon, Alexander was a genuine, so to speak,... artist of his craft, where the ultimate moment, even the practical result, took a back seat to the inner impulse of creativity. Not seeking anything, not guided by any considerations of material or ideal nature, he throughout his entire career knew no other motivation for his actions but the boundless thirst for conquest and saw satisfaction nowhere but in the very process of conquest, in the very exercise of his abilities.
Aristotle. More than two thousand years have passed since the birth of Aristotle, but it is difficult to point to an area of modern knowledge that is not connected to his work.
