Just yesterday, Stefan Schuster was a well-known erotic film director in Germany, but now, at the behest of the Nazis, he is forced to shoot a propaganda film about life... in an isolated labor camp for members of a national minority. Being segregated himself, deprived of civil rights, he initially enthusiastically takes on the filming, but each new day convinces Schuster that the script is a lie, and the external comfort of the Jewish community is merely a facade. And then he decides to embark on a mad, desperate adventure. The reader will have to leap forward ten, twenty-five, forty years, cross borders and oceans, find living witnesses of those events, and together with the characters of the book piece together a complete story from scattered fragments about what the Fuhrer's promise to give the inhabitants of the labor camp an entire country - Madagascar - turned into.
