This volume presents to the reader the second edition of the main work of the father of classical political economy, Adam Smith – An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations 1776. The first edition, published in the series Anthology of Economic Thought in 2007, was well received by a wide circle of our readers and the expert community. Continuing this tradition, this edition for the first time publishes the translation of A. Smith’s History of Astronomy – one of the major works from the early period before 1758, in which the method of studying socio-economic processes is born and refined, bringing the author worldwide fame. What is the uniqueness of this edition? During his lifetime, A. Smith’s book went through several editions and was translated into other European languages. The complete translation of The Wealth of Nations was last published forty-five years ago. This translation was used as a basis, but clarified and corrected in a number of places.
