Board Game - Checkers Set

Checkers is one of the oldest games in human history, with variations of this game dating back thousands of years. In Ancient Egypt, the game was popular as early as 1500 BC, and game boards were often found in tombs, with Queen Hatshepsut reportedly playing it often. The game remained popular even during the Roman Empire. The game is also related to the Arab game Quirkat, which was played on a 5x5 board. The game was brought to Spain by the Moors, where it was called Alquerque. From there, the game migrated to France around 1100 AD. Each piece was called a "flag", the same name was used for the queen in chess. Eventually, the name was changed to "lady" when it was also adopted for the queen in chess.
