Dubrovsky. The Captain's Daughter

The book presents the prose works of A.S. Pushkin: the unfinished novel "Dubrovsky" and the historical tale "The Captain's Daughter". "Dubrovsky" closely resembles the Western European "bandit" novel: an adventurous plot, issues of honor and betrayal, pride and forgiveness, and, of course, an exciting love story between young people from feuding families.
The action of "The Captain's Daughter" - the story of the acquaintance and love of the main characters: Pyotr Grinyov and Masha Mironova - unfolds against the backdrop of the peasant uprising of Yemelyan Pugachev in the 1770s. The tale remarkably intertwines eyewitness accounts and folklore, historical facts and artistic fiction.
