There was an old man with three sons: the two older ones worked all day, while the youngest, Emelya, lay on the stove, as he loved to be lazy. One day, when Emelya had to go for water, he caught... a pike in the hole in the ice. But it was no ordinary pike - it was magical. Since then, wonders began to happen to Emelya and his loved ones...
The Russian folk tale "By Pike's Wish," adapted by the famous writer Alexei Tolstoy, is humorously illustrated by the artist Olga Gromova. The characters in this story turned out to be vibrant and colorful: the clever lazybones Emelya, the foolish royal nobleman, and the round-faced beauty Marya-the-Princess. Even the buckets have character!
