Ernest Seton-Thompson was born in the United Kingdom, but when he was about six, his family moved to Canada. The boy often spent time in the woods near his home, first because he was afraid of his hot-tempered father, and then because he enjoyed observing the life of wild animals. He often drew animals and even studied visual arts in Paris for about five years. He always wrote stories: about the life of Native Americans, the adventures of boys, but most of all - about the life of wild animals that he loved, studied, and protected through his creativity.
