Investigations are conducted by the Koloboks — this is a detective story. The genre is unusual for E.N. Uspensky. The heroes — founders of a detective agency, are neither fairy tale characters nor real, but rather comic book characters. They reside in Krasnopresnensky Park, searching for supposedly missing children, almost stolen paintings from the Tretyakov Gallery, and catching elephant thieves.
