Engaging Speech Therapist Tasks for Schoolchildren. Grades 2-3

This manual presents 159 sets of diverse tasks for students in grades 2-3 of primary school, who have various types of written speech disorders or "growth mistakes", meaning difficulties in mastering the rules of the Russian language. The tasks are arranged in a sequence that corresponds to educational programs in the Russian language and speech therapy correctional programs. Considering the age characteristics of children, the author included useful game tasks based on vocabulary, sentences, texts, and illustrative material, as well as fill-in-the-blank puzzles, crosswords, etc. Game exercises, first of all, will be interesting for schoolchildren, secondly, will increase their level of independence in solving educational tasks, and thirdly, will help them reinforce the material studied during classes. The book includes prospective planning for working with schoolchildren who have a mixed type of dysgraphia (auditory, complicated by underdevelopment of language analysis and synthesis; optical, complicated by underdevelopment of language analysis and synthesis). This manual will be useful for speech therapists in school speech therapy centers and PMPC centers, primary school teachers, and parents interested in helping children learn to read carefully and complete tasks, making fewer mistakes in dictations and copying.
