Thanks to Kostik, the quiet one and a poor student, Vanya always finds himself in silly situations. But he redeems himself by diligently recording his victories in a notebook with themes in English. Recalling funny and absurd stories that happened... to him and Kostik, Vanya finds his own answers to questions about friendship, parental divorce, his relationship with his father, and the ridiculous Vadik, whom his mother is planning to marry.
However, it turns out that not all questions can have just one correct answer. Vanya realizes this during the autumn holidays in seventh grade when the boys end up in an abandoned bunker-labyrinth with traps from the Great Patriotic War. It turns out that Vanya's loneliness in the adult world is not absolute, and his friendship with Kostik is unconditional. And in this lies its immense strength and salvation for each of the friends, because it is real.
