The fairy tale by Eduard Uspensky Down the Magical River was published as a separate book in 1972. In 1982, a film based on this book was made called There, on Unknown Paths… The story is quite unusual: a boy named Mitya arrives in the village to visit his grandmother, but due to the simplest circumstances, he ends up… in a Russian folk tale. Baba Yaga, Koschei the Immortal, the Nightingale the Robber, Vasilisa the Wise - now Mitya has seen all these characters in person.
