Yuri Koval is an unusual writer; his stories transport the reader to an autumn forest, a spring taiga, a summer village, or an apartment where the proud Captain Klyukin lives. There seems to be nothing special in the works, no... fantasy, but after reading them, one wants to take a closer look at our ordinary reality, pay attention to the stray dog that just ran by—maybe it’s a potato dog!—and find a crossbill on the street that resembles Captain Klyukin. Our book includes all the stories from the Leafbeater cycle illustrated by Vera Tsepilova. The illustrations accurately convey the atmosphere of Yuri Koval's prose. The stories from the Leafbeater cycle are included in the school curriculum. For younger school age.
