"The Master and Margarita" is the main novel of the great Russian writer of the 20th century, Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov (1891–1940). He worked on it until the end of his life. This work still generates many controversial opinions and bright... polemical statements. It combines the sublime and the earthly: immortal love, the torment of creativity, the quest for truth—and harsh satire expressed in the "Aesopian" language of artistic prose.
In this edition, the novel is printed in the last lifetime version (the manuscript is kept in the Manuscript Department of the Russian State Library), as well as with corrections and additions made at the dictation of the writer by his wife, E. S. Bulgakova.
