Sasha Chernoy Alexander Mikhailovich Glickberg, 1880-1932 - a Russian poet of the Silver Age, prose writer, and journalist. The Glickberg family had 5 children, two of whom had the same name Sasha. Since one was a brunette and the other... a blonde, their childhood family nicknames were Black and White. Thus, the literary pseudonym of the future writer appeared. Sasha Chernoy ran away from home at the age of 15. Initially, he was taken in by his aunt on his father's side, who took him with her to Saint Petersburg, where the boy continued his studies at a gymnasium. However, he was soon expelled, his family turned away from him, and Sasha Chernoy became a beggar, begging on the streets. The journalist Alexander Yablonsky became interested in the hard fate of the teenager, and in 1898, one of the largest Petersburg newspapers, Son of the Fatherland, published his report on Sasha Chernoy. This story deeply touched the Zhytomyr official K. K. Roshe, and he took the boy into his care. Zhytomyr became the second homeland of the future writer, and Sasha Chernoy considered Konstantin Konstantinovich Roshe his godfather. The first poem by Sasha Chernoy was published in 1904 in the Zhytomyr newspaper Volynsky Vestnik. A year later he moved to Saint Petersburg, where he collaborated with many literary publications. The poems of Sasha Chernoy became very popular, according to the memories of Korney Chukovsky, … when receiving a fresh issue of the magazine, the reader first of all sought in it the poems of Sasha Chernoy. After the October Revolution of 1917, the writer emigrated from Russia. He worked a lot and fruitfully, and a significant place in his work was now occupied by children's literature Diary of the Fox Mickey, Serious Stories, Cat's Sanatorium, etc.. Diary of the Fox Mickey is considered one of the best works of the emigration period of Sasha Chernoy.
