Children's poems were written by the satirist Sasha Chorny 1880-1932, whose sharp pen was feared by many in pre-revolutionary Russia, and the thunderous singer of the revolution Vladimir Mayakovsky 1893-1930. Yuri Vladimirov 1908-1931 and Daniil Kharms 1905-1942 share much: both... were participants in the legendary Union of Real Art OBERIU, both lived a short but creatively productive life, both worked in the famous children's magazines Chizh and Yozh, to which they were invited by S. Ya. Marshak. They found their way to the reader thanks to children's literature. The children's poems they created absorbed the brightest features of their unique style: the whimsy of images and situations, and, of course, the unmistakable humor with which they preferred to relate to any manifestations of life. All these poets are united by a bold search for a new language and unconventional forms of children's poetry. This book collects funny, reckless, and in some ways even mischievous poems, written in a lively language and filled with enthusiasm and sparkling, unforgettable humor - poems about ships and cats, restless schoolchildren and clouds, mischievous letters and musical instruments, lighthouses and gnomes, dogs and unstoppable dreamers.
