Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky 1893-1930 was born in the village of Bagdadi, near the city of Kutaisi, into a impoverished noble family. The poet established his own laws of versification, creating his own images, metaphors, rhymes, rhythm, and meter of poetry, inventing new words such as giraffka, zveriki, drygonozhestvo, ispavlinit'sya, etc., and even recording his poetry in a unique way - not in a column but in a staircase format. The themes of Mayakovsky's poetry are diverse: they include lyrical poems, satire, and civic lyric poetry.
