You are holding an anthology of pedagogical repertoire for first-grade students of a children's music school. The compilation of this collection was prompted by the need to have a sufficient amount of musical-pedagogical material for teaching a child to play the piano throughout the year in one textbook. The anthology includes pieces from many previously published educational materials that address the challenges of this learning period. In accordance with the curriculum requirements of children's music schools and art schools, the anthology features works representing the following sections: polyphony, large forms, pieces, etudes, and ensembles. The extensive artistic and instructional material allows for the selection of a sufficient number of pieces for acquiring and consolidating knowledge and skills, taking into account the individual capabilities of the student. Due to the nature of the initial learning period, the material is not divided into sections but presented according to the principle of gradual complexity. The entire selection and systematization of works reflect well-known pedagogical principles and are equally the result of the authors' years of experience working with children.
