Claire Cassidy is an English language and literature teacher at Talgarth High School, where a mysterious writer, author of gothic novels R. M. Holland, once lived. Claire is a big fan of his and is even writing his biography, trying... to uncover old family secrets. Suddenly, Claire's best friend Ella is killed by a murderer, and a mysterious note is found next to the body. Moreover, the police suspect that Claire knows the killer. The heroine, bewildered, turns to her best friend and confidant - her personal diary. What horror awaits her when she notices someone else's words written in an unfamiliar hand on one of the pages! Claire finds herself caught up in a series of mysterious crimes, as Ella is not the only victim and now everyone is a suspect. Claire is almost certain that a stranger has come to turn her life into hell. But is it possible to rewrite the ending of the story?
