GeometricUM: 3D Thinking

The ability to distinguish geometric shapes, choose the shortest route to school, a playground, come up with and assemble models from constructor parts or in an online game - all this is possible thanks to spatial thinking. It's never too... early to develop three-dimensional thinking; it can and should be done at any age. The book presents exercises for the comprehensive development of three-dimensional thinking: tasks aimed at developing spatial orientation, tasks that require the use of the principle of symmetry, involving visual analysis and synthesis, as well as tasks for forming stable visual perception, developing logic and thinking in general. The exercises are presented from simple to complex, which promotes step-by-step development of 3D thinking. The manual is intended for methodologists, educators, and parents for joint activities in the adult-child pair.
