Once upon a time, there lived a frog who dreamed of traveling. But what to do if you have only small legs, and you can't jump further than your home swamp?... The resourceful frog still set off to distant lands, and along the way wanted to tell everyone how smart she was.
The story of the traveler was known to Vsevolod Garshin from an Indian folktale and a fable by La Fontaine. The writer created the character of the heroine, placed her in the Russian nature, and added an optimistic ending. As a result, it turned into such a lively and joyful story that young readers will forever remember the boastful frog and understand how bad it is to brag.
Artist Masha Shebeko proposed an original addition to this tale. Realistic illustrations and a small dictionary at the end will tell about the most common inhabitants of forests and water bodies.
