The Suffering from the Meaninglessness of Life. Current Psychotherapy

The book by the world-renowned Austrian philosopher, psychologist, and founder of logotherapy Viktor Frankl (1905-1997) is a collection of lectures that present the fundamental ideas of existential psychology in an accessible and engaging way. The scientific and literary career of the outstanding Austrian psychologist began in 1924 when, with the approval of Sigmund Freud, he published his first article in the "International Journal of Psychoanalysis." After experiencing a passion for psychoanalysis and Adler's psychology in his youth, Viktor Frankl became the founder of a completely new direction in psychology, now known as the Third Viennese School of Psychotherapy. Based on his rich experience as a practicing psychotherapist, Frankl not only analyzes the causes of the painful feeling of meaninglessness that prevails in modern society but also provides his recipe for relieving the suffering caused by this feeling. Many of the lectures that make up this book are published in Russian for the first time.
