The Adventures of Romen Kalibri

Poor fisherman Kalibri, the father of eleven-year-old Romen, dies during a storm. The boy's mother is forced to send her son to learn from a relative. In the house of a rich but extremely stingy uncle, the orphan faces only ridicule, scorn, and a half-starved existence.

The boy, dreaming of ships and ocean expanses, escapes from his wretched life and sets out in search of a better fate. Determination, perseverance, empathy for others' troubles, and faithful friends help him overcome all adversities.
