The book «I Want to Go to School. 33 Tales about Emotions» uses kind tales with tasks to help you and your child easily establish a dialogue and understand why fear, sadness, envy, or anger arise and how to cope with these feelings. After each tale in the book, conclusions are provided for the child to reinforce what they have read, along with questions to work on EQ (emotional intelligence).
With the help of the book, the child will learn: how to build relationships with adults and peers correctly; to understand their own emotional state and that of their interlocutor; to find and analyze the reasons for their actions; to manage and control their emotions.
This book is perfect for preparing a child for school in an emotional sense. After all, starting school is a huge stress for a little one. A new group, new demands, rules, and heavy loads. Without adequate psychological preparation, a first-grader can overstress their nervous system, which may not withstand the increased demands. This leads to breakdowns, stress, and problems with peers. To deal with difficult situations, one needs to develop empathy – the ability to feel and understand the emotions of others, the capacity to put oneself in their position; to learn self-control and manage emotions, to resist various negative emotions from the outside, to be able to protect oneself, and maintain self-confidence regardless of circumstances. And while we solve mathematical problems in arithmetic, the tasks and exercises here will be different – psychological. Only in this way can we emotionally prepare a child for school and ensure a successful start.
