Throughout his professional career, Anatoly Fyodorovich Koni held various positions in the Russian judicial system, including some of the highest: he was the prosecutor of the St. Petersburg District Court, the vice-director of the department of the Ministry of Justice, and the chief prosecutor of the Criminal Cassation Department of the Senate. He oversaw investigations into complex, intricate cases and acted as a prosecutor in the most serious cases. A.F. Koni described the most notable judicial processes from his legal practice with his inherent literary talent in articles and essays that made up the cycle "Notes of a Judicial Figure."
