Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) – Scottish writer and poet. He was born into a family of engineers but did not continue the family tradition and received a higher education at the University of Edinburgh in the law faculty, although he initially studied to be an engineer. The novella "Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde" by Stevenson was published in 1886. In it, the author reflects on the theme of duality and attempts to reinterpret it. The plot narrates strange events taking place in London, in which Edward Hyde – a cruel and repugnant man – has a direct role. These events attract the attention of Mr. Utterson, who works as a notary. Hyde is somehow connected to Utterson's friend – Dr. Jekyll. It is this connection that interests the notary. He decides to delve into the matter and try to uncover the truth. How will this investigation end? The answer lies in the pages of the book.
