Kristy Tate is a young girl, the best student in her law school class, who has successfully interned at a major firm; everything in her life seems perfect. But one day, while driving on the highway, a single obsessive thought... crosses her mind: "I wish someone would shoot me in the head." These manic thoughts send Kristy searching for therapy, and she finds herself in an unconventional group led by a charismatic psychotherapist. Dr. Rosen gives her an eight-word prescription that will change her life: "You don't need medication. You just need witnesses." Kristy takes her place and becomes psychologically and emotionally exposed in a room with six complete strangers.
