There is no more complex question in world history than the Palestinian-Israeli issue. Warriors from almost all famous world empires have stepped on these stones and sands: Persian, Roman, Ottoman, French, British. As they say, a holy place is never empty... The ambitions of proud conquerors have long dispersed like smoke, turned to dust, yet the sound of weapons continues to echo in the deserts and oases from Sinai to the ridges of Lebanon. For a tiny piece of land 500 kilometers long and 60 kilometers wide, the longest war in modern history, almost “a hundred years,” is raging. This war is mainly being fought on paper; it is essentially propagandistic. Alex Kaplan, a prominent historian who has worked for many years in foreign scientific organizations, reveals the modern history of this crossroads of empires: free from propaganda and exaggerations, from clichés and myths — for those who want to be informed and better understand what is happening today.
