In Fjällbacka, a big celebration is planned – the famous prose writer Henning Bauer and his wife Elizabeth are celebrating their golden anniversary. Many prominent people from Sweden have been invited to the event, including the well-known writer Erika Falk... and her husband, police officer Patrick Hedström. Suddenly, the outstanding photographer and close friend of the Bauers, Rolf Stenklo, refuses to attend. No one understands why. But this confusion quickly turns to horror: that very evening, Rolf is brutally murdered in his gallery. Patrick takes charge of the investigation into this murder, while Erika, as usual, begins to gather material for her future book dedicated to the horrific tragedy. They do not yet know that this is just the beginning of a whole series of mysterious murders…
