Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov 1814–1841 – a Russian poet, prose writer, playwright, and artist. His life was short, but his bright talent developed surprisingly early: poems and even poems written by Lermontov at the age of 14 have been preserved. He was gifted with an amazing musicality – he played the violin, the piano, sang, and composed music for his own poems. Lermontov's creative legacy includes poetry, prose, and drama: works that are realistic, romantic, and even – satirical. Everything created by the poet in his short life – is a feat in the name of freedom and the Motherland. It is not only about glorifying the victory of Borodino, 1837, in the lines I love my homeland… Motherland, 1841, but also in those works that speak of the fate of a generation, the purpose of a poet, the lonely prisoner, exile, and the emptiness of life. The collection includes poems and poems by M.Yu. Lermontov, written in different years of his life and belonging to different directions of the poet's creativity.
