March 1956, Mad Bay, Ketchikan, Alaska. A baby is born. Through the skylights, keyholes, magnifying glasses, we look at the surrounding world through his eyes. Moving from the infinitely small to the infinitely large – from a bug wiggling under a magnifying glass to the stars shimmering in a telescope's lens, from a seaplane flying overhead to a shuttle traversing the expanse of the Universe – we observe how he grows, makes discoveries, dreams of space, loses a loved one, finds love, crosses the atmosphere, raises a son, experiences separation, and returns to his childhood home. A human life unfolds before us, simple and grand.
