Mr. Arashi's Freak Show

«Recently I turned twelve. Three years ago, my father left my mother and me, and we started living alone. When my mother died, I didn't know what to do. The owner of a traveling circus dazzled me with beautiful words and persuaded me to join his troupe. But instead of paradise, I ended up in hell. The life of a circus performer is so hard that I seriously contemplate suicide. I can't sleep at night, I don't go to school, and I don't know what will happen to me the next day. I am consumed by fear and uncertainty. What should I do?». The famous Japanese graphic artist Suehiro Maruo presents to the readers a tragic story of the young orphan Midori Tsubaki, who tried to break free from the ugly world of circus illusions into the no less ugly real world.
