World of Comics-2020. Diaporama, superheroes, Japanese subculture

The book contains articles by domestic and foreign scholars exploring comics, as well as their animated and film versions, in three regions: Russia, the USA, and Japan. Each of the three sections highlights approaches to the study of comics such... as representation of images, historical retrospectives, gender studies, psychoanalytic concepts, narratology, cinematic techniques, and more.
The collection is primarily based on materials from the V international conference «World of Comics», which took place on March 14, 2020, at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (Moscow).
The book is aimed at a wide audience of readers—academics and specialists in various disciplines interested in the study of comics from a professional standpoint, as well as all fans of Russian, American, and Japanese comics.
