Yegor Letov. My Defense

The history of "Grazhdanskaya Oborona" and Yegor Letov is difficult to describe in detail and objectively, especially in such a small book. Letov has entangled his traces so long that studying his phenomenon becomes equally fascinating and difficult. The present... interweaves with the past, and the future, which seems to be absent, also does not provide answers; quotes taken out of context seem alien, and ultimately, there's a trace left by an airplane that has long and irrevocably flown into unknown distances. But we need to start somewhere, while many witnesses of those events are still alive, relatively healthy, and of sound mind and memory. Perhaps there will be a subsequent edition, more detailed and rich. Excessive reverence and frequent direct speech, daring retrospectives and paradoxical associations, amazing preferences and subjective assessments are included as they are.
