Preparing for School: 60 Activities for the Psychological Development of Older Preschoolers. Methodological Guide

The methodological guide presents a program for preparing children for school, built in accordance with the new - competency-based - paradigm of school education. The goal of the developmental program is to improve the cognitive activity of future schoolchildren, to form necessary psychological skills (differentiating sounds, analyzing and copying a sample, following adult instructions, etc.) and personal qualities. The necessity of cognitive development for older preschoolers is justified, and a description of 60 activities containing 240 tasks is provided, as well as illustrative materials for the activities.

The developmental program is addressed to educators of preparatory groups in preschool educational institutions, psychologists, teachers engaged in preparing older preschoolers for schooling, students of pedagogical and psychological universities, and parents of future schoolchildren.
