Pavel Pavlovich Muratov (1881–1950) — writer, historian, curator of the department of fine arts and classical antiquities of the Rumyantsev Museum, a keen connoisseur of European culture. The writer worked on the book «Images of Italy» for many years, until 1924, when the final edition was published in Berlin.
