In the book "Medieval Masters and Geniuses of the Renaissance," Paola Dmitrievna Volkova covers a vast historical period and tells us about the brightest centuries of art development – from trecento, the period of Proto-Renaissance, to seicento, the very end... of the Renaissance. We will walk the path from the Sienese school of painting to the ascension of Baroque and Rococo, familiarize ourselves with such great works as "The Kiss of Judas" by Giotto, "Spring" by Sandro Botticelli, learn about Bosch and his "Ship of Fools" and about Velázquez's "Las Meninas."
Paola Dmitrievna Volkova – a Soviet and Russian art historian, Doctor of Arts, cultural historian, and honored artist of the RSFSR. She graduated from Moscow State University (1953) with a degree in "art history." She taught at VGIK in the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors. Paola Volkova is the author and host of the documentary television series "Bridge Over the Abyss" (2011–2012) about the history of world painting for the "Culture" channel.
