The Scarlet Letter

After a long absence of her husband, Esther is left alone and gives birth to a child out of wedlock. For this, she is sentenced to public humiliation: she must wear a scarlet letter «A» on her clothing, which becomes a lifelong stigma for those around her. Her daughter Pearl grows up beside her, while another storyline unfolds in the shadows: the respected minister Arthur Dimmesdale hides a painful secret, while the returned Roger Chillingworth seeks the guilty party. The plot relies not on external action, but on the pressure exerted by conscience, religious judgment, and the thirst for revenge.
