This textbook, focused on the Iberian variant of the Portuguese language, is designed for teaching practical language skills, primarily spoken language, and serves as a foundation for those learning Portuguese. The texts and dialogues, written in lively modern Portuguese, are based on the realities of Portugal. Each lesson contains grammatical explanations and exercises, main and additional texts and dialogues on everyday topics, a dictionary and comments on the texts and dialogues, questions, lexical and conversational exercises, and samples of authentic Portuguese documents (identity cards, restaurant menus, etc.). The textbook comes with a downloadable audio file with recordings of the texts, dialogues, and exercises, as well as a "Student Workbook" with exercises from the textbook in electronic format. For students beginning to learn Portuguese as a primary language, attendees of foreign language courses, and those self-studying Portuguese. The previous edition of the textbook was published in 2011 by "Philomatis".
