Checking Work on Reading Technique. Grade 1

The manual includes 32 texts with control questions, a specified number of words, and standards for assessing reading technique for weekly testing in Grade 1. Reading speed is the number of words read in 1 minute. The student should read expressively, maintaining a steady reading pace, observing pauses at punctuation marks, and clearly articulating words. After each text, there are control questions that allow for checking how well the student understands what they have read, as well as standards that the teacher can use for an objective assessment of students' reading skills. The number of words in the text is given in parentheses. To develop reading skills, it is necessary to conduct reading speed tests every week.
