Guardian Angel

The elderly neighbor of private detective V. Varshavski asks her to look into the sudden disappearance of an eighty-year-old union associate. She starts the investigation and learns that the missing pensioner was found floating face down in a canal. Now she needs to strap on her shoulder holster to learn about the unions and politicians of Chicago, because if she sides with the police's "guardian angels," it won't bring her any bonuses… but it's perfect for investigating a violent death.
