On this hot summer, the police commissioner of Naples, Luigi Ricciardi, a detective who sees the ghosts of people who died a violent death and hears their last thoughts, once again received a difficult assignment.

He is to investigate the murder of the Duchess di Camparino, a mysterious woman known for her tumultuous life. 

On the night when the residents of the di Camparino neighborhood were loudly celebrating in the square in front of the family mansion, the duchess was found murdered in her hallway. 

Someone strangled her and then shot her in the head with a gun. Who could have done this?

There are several suspects, and the evidence contradicts each other.

The commissioner will wander through false and sometimes dangerous paths in search of the truth, and the resolution will turn out to be completely unexpected.
