«Schopenhauer as Medicine» - a book about how philosophy destroys and saves the human soul. Psychotherapist Julius learns that he is terminally ill. His days are numbered, and in the last year of his life, he decides to correct a long-standing mistake and heal a patient with whom he failed twenty years ago. Philip, a philosopher by profession, plans to engage in "philosophical consulting" and heal people using Schopenhauer's philosophy - just as he once healed himself. The characters in the novel meet in a psychotherapy group and change beyond recognition over the year. One learns to die. The other learns to live.
